AWI Perry Buildings and Minden Miniatures Civilians.

The following pictures are of a couple of Perry Miniatures plastic buildings along with Minden Miniatures civilians. The horse and cart is by Front Rank and the fencing is scratch built by myself, along with the rest of the terrain.
I have used the rest of the plastic fencing that comes with the building to make a small allotment type base.
The Minden figures come from their SYW range but are ideal for AWI or FIW. These are really lovely sculpts with no flash to clean and are a joy to paint. They are also a good match for Perry figures and with hindsight I should of done a comparison shot, this will have to wait now for a later post.

These figures come with open hands and a selection of farm tools to arm them with. I replaced one of these with a musket and have placed the unused broom on the porch of the white building. The groom holding the horse I have placed on a separate base, as I thought the Blacksmith and horse, at a pinch could be used for other periods.

I have been making some Zulu War terrain which I will post next week, followed by another Perry War of the Roses Retinue that I have finished followed by more Zulu War terrain. The pictures are all done and they are waiting to go on the blog.

  2. Superb terrain and civilians! Brilliant photos too... How do you get the weathered wood look on the buildings?

  3. Great looking figs and terrain! I haven't heard of Minden Minis before, but very nice stuff! I'm looking forward to your WOR pics. I'm painting some Perry plastics at the moment for a game I'm going to run at Nashcon in May.

  4. Outstanding! I am very envious of your terrain boards, especially as at present thare is no dedicated space at 'Awdry Towers' :(
I've got my eye on those Perry buildings as they could also be useful for the New Zealand Wars too; perhaps Salute will see them finally in the bag!

  6. Thanks very much chaps.
Cyrus, The buildings were painted and weathered using household paints and a fairly large brush. The 'Touching History' books are very good for making/painting terrain and buildings.
