My friend Steve Lygo will be pleased that I have just finished painting some Reds for his Back of Beyond collection. I will be going back to WW2 plus some terrain and buildings next, before painting his Whites and Chinese Warlord collections, sorry Steve but you will have to wait a little while
If you live in the UK then we have Do It Yourself stores named B&Q. They sell water based household paint that come in test pots for about £2 and you get a lot more paint than you would for the same money from your hobby paints. This makes them ideal for painting the bases on your figures and also your terrain. B&Q do a range called Valspar Collections, The Bookcase.
They have a good range of earthy colours which make them ideal for any groundwork and they have a nice matt finish.
Start with the darkest colour and then drybrush with the lighter shades, finishing off with Vallejo Ivory.
On with the Reds. I have painted five units of foot and two horse.
And the usual action shots.
My apologies for the delay with getting 'Setting The Scene' published, everything is done apart from the graphic design hurdle, hopefully it will be worth the wait.
That's it for now folks.
Lovely work as usual Pat. I like the base colour choices ... must have a look for those
ReplyDeleteImpressive miniatures. I may copy the scheme for a fantasy force.

ReplyDeletethe wait for this book is killing me! :p i need it so i can start on my winter table=D do you have any ideas regarding pricing? will it be available as an E-book?
ReplyDeleteThat's quite an impressive russian collection!
Sorry for the delay with the book, I am looking at all options to try and keep the price down. I am not sure about going down the E-book path and will probably go for a high quality finish magazine.
DeleteAmazing as always. Superb+.
ReplyDeleteLove the flags...gotta ask; home made or store bought? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your kind comments. Greg, the flags are made by FLAG DUDE.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thank you. BTW - your site is very inspirational and have turned on many gamers and modelers on your creation you share with us on your blog.
ReplyDeleteWonderful figures and scenery (and flags), inspiring stuff Pat!
