Last Sunday I went along to Dave Marks superb wargames venue. We were celebrating his son Sam's 19th birthday by playing an all day game.
There was about a dozen of us that turned up for the day and we were using Steve Danes excellent 'Bloody Kingdom' ECW rules which are based on his 'Father Tilly' set. It is also handy when the rule writer is on hand to umpire the game for you, thanks Steve you did a splendid job.
Dave Marks invited along Dave Bodley from Grandmanner and you will see a model of one of his fantastic churches in the outskirts of Naseby village in a picture below.
Joe Dever was on hand with his camera and extensive photography knowledge to capture the day and the battle in detail. Steve Danes will be submitting an article of the battle along with Joe's photo's to Wargames Illustrated and apparently this will be getting published in the Christmas issue of WI.
It was great to meet up with all the gang and I should make more effort to get along to these game days as Dave and Sam really are wonderful hosts.
I haven't taken that many close up shots of the game as this will be covered by Joe's expert camera work which you will get to see in WI but I just wanted to capture an overall picture of a great day and to give you a little taster of what's to come . Hope you enjoy.
